Neighbourhood graffiti that you don't mind seeing

It's not quite "Eternity'' but the messages scrawled on a footpath in Kambah have put a smile on the face of at least one passerby.

Children in O'Halloran Circuit, Kambah wrote some feelgood messages on the footpath on Wednesday night and by Thursday a neighbour was ringing The Canberra Times to say how much they appreciated them.

The messages included "I hope u had a good day today'' and the encouraging "don't stop running, joging [sic] or walking''  and "You can do it!''. They were the work of 10-year-old Tiarni Mara and her little sister Chanelle, four, who went to work outside their home.

The year five student at Curtin Primary School was an "empathetic" little girl, mum Rose said.

So it was no surprise she spread a little sunshine with the chalk messages.

"We get a lot of foot traffic here so she just wanted to send a positive message to the walkers," Rose said.

And it's not the first time Tiarni has made the news. Way back in 2013, The Canberra Times documented her first day at school at Curtin.

The family has since relocated to Kambah.
