CBSE paper leak: school principal arrested

Principal of Mother Khazani Convent School in Bawana was arrested on Wednesday in connection with the case of CBSE question paper leak.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) Ram Gopal Naik confirmed the arrest of Praveen Kumar Dagar.

‘Role established’

A senior police officer said that Mr. Dagar had anticipatory bail, therefore, after the formal arrest, he was let off. “His role has been established in leaking the question paper. The pictures were being clicked in front of him and he was aware that they was being shared,” the officer said.

The police, in April, had arrested two teachers of the school, identified as Rishabh and Rohit, who had allegedly sent Class XII Economics question paper to their associate Tauqeer, a tuition teacher who allegedly shared the paper with students.

The police had questioned the principal for hours after the arrests were made but he was not formally arrested till Wednesday.

The CBSE had cancelled the affiliation of the Bawana school.

The police had busted the module involved in leaking Class X question paper in Himachal Pradesh’s Una in April and arrested six persons, including a woman.
