BHUBANESWAR: The first round admission into MBBS and BDS courses in eight medical colleges of the State will begin from Thursday. The Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) committee has allotted separate dates for each of these medical colleges for admission which will continue till July 10. Accordingly, the first round admission into MBBS seats will take place at SCB Medical College, Cuttack on July 5, MKCG Medical College Cuttack on July 6, VIMSAR on July 7, SLN Medical College, Koraput and PRM Medical College, Baripada on July 8, Government Medical College, Balangir and Government Medical College, Balasore on July 9 and Hi-Tech Medical College, Bhubaneswar on July 10.
For BDS courses, admission will take place at SCB Dental College, Cuttack on July 7 and Hi-Tech Dental College, Bhubaneswar on July 10. OJEE officials said these colleges have 1,300 MBBS and BDS seats of which 15 per cent belong to All India quota. Candidates have to deposit admission fees at OJEE Cell at Gandamunda here mentioning their name and NEET roll number on the draft, they said. The date for submitting the required documents will be announced after every round of result declaration. Candidates will receive provisional admission report from OJEE cell along with acknowledgement of submitted documents, the officials added. After completion of the first round admission, students will join their respective institutes by July 12.
The OJEE will publish the number of vacant seats including quota seats on July 24. Students can go for choice filling and locking on July 24 and 25 respectively. The second round of seat allotment will be done on July 26. Provisional admission for this round is scheduled between July 27 and 30. In case of any vacancy after second phase admission, spot counselling may also be done and admission conducted between August 4 and 8. Classes for academic session 2018-19 will start from August 1.
