Highlight their woes in a memorandum to Jagan

Farmers from Penumaka and Undavalli villages in the capital region called on YSRCP president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy during his Praja Sankalpa Yatra near Draksharama on Wednesday, and expressed their opposition to what they termed as “forcible land acquisition” by the government for the construction of the capital city. In a memorandum submitted to Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the farmers stated that they were not willing to give away their lands, but were being threatened by the officials in the name of land acquisition.

Expressing his solidarity with the farmers, Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy said justice would be rendered to the farmers once the YSRCP was voted to power in the State in the general elections.

He criticised the government for resorting to “forcible” land acquisition in the name of capital city construction.

The YSRCP president covered Kuyyeru, Balantram, Erra Pothavaram, and Vegayammapeta before reaching Draksharama for night halt.
