Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) founder Altaf Hussain has criticised the Pakistan Army for its devious plans in manipulating the general elections scheduled to be held on July 25.
While addressing at a public function in London, Hussain said, "This is not a general election, but general's elections. These elections are to be conducted by Army general and results would be prepared under the supervision of army generals. We don't accept these elections, but we appeal for a boycott. The military establishment is doing the political engineering so that it could impose a favourite political party over the country and hence, the general elections are purely 'military-managed and engineered'."
"Today's Pakistan is not the one that was dreamt by the founder Muhammad Ali Jinnah. It is a military occupied country. Pakistan has been added to the 'Grey List' of Financial Action Task Force (FATF) owing to the corrupt military junta of Pakistan and would soon be in FATF 'Black List'," he added.
Hussain asserted that "at one hand the military establishment is leaving no tactic behind for the execution of ousted Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and at the other hand, it is ridiculing his ailing spouse."
"However, the military establishment has to explain whether its blue-eyed Imran Niazi and Asif Ali Zardari are from heavens or are angels because they are no different from Nawaz Sharif. These two are equally plunderers, corrupt and anti-masses. Their sources of income are also based on plunder, loot, and corruption. The country's apex court has at the behest of military establishment declared Imran Niazi as country's sole and most pious man ignoring the fact that the court of California had tried Imran Niazi and established that he is the father of an illegitimate daughter without marriage," Hussain explained.
"His DNA had matched with the DNA of her illegitimate daughter. He asked how it is possible for him and his party to take part in the general elections, while the military has locked his house and party secretariat and party headquarters, Nine Zero in Karachi; How elections could be free, fair and transparent when the military establishment is not allowing PML-N to freely participate in the elections?
How could it be free, fair and transparent when the military establishment has prepared pre-elections results for imposing Imran Niazi and his party, PTI over the people of Pakistan?" he questioned.
Hussain lamented that the country's Chief Justice Mian Saquib Nisar, who visited every nook and cranny and tried to make a false manifest of his concerns over injustices, but could not dare to enter military-held tribal areas, adding that he failed to meet the missing Mohajirs and tribal people, who have been kidnapped and enforced to disappear during different military operations, like Operation "Zarb-e Azb", operation "Radd-ul Fasaad" and others.
"Pakistan's military kidnapped them, and the missing citizens of Pakistan are in military's unlawful detention centres," he lambasted.
Hussain said MQM is facing an illegitimate embargo and he has been unlawfully restricted under an illegitimate embargo under which "his freedom of expression has been curtailed."
"How it is possible for MQM to fight the general elections? Those who are fighting the general elections would soon lick the boots of the corrupt military junta but they would never do it," he concluded.
Born in Karachi, Hussain is now living in exile in London.
