Police call for information on car after gang-related shooting
Police are calling for information on a stolen car believed to have been involved in a criminal gang-related shooting in Calwell last Thursday night.
Taskforce Nemesis detectives have released video that shows a stolen silver Toyota Prado, with ACT registration YIM27R, in the area before the incident.
Police said the car was seen on Carter Crescent at 10.42pm, before turning left onto Outtrim Avenue.
Two houses on Carter Crescent were targeted about 10.45pm by two men police believe to be outlaw motorcycle gang members.
A man was shot in the hand at the first house, where the offenders also torched three cars in the backyard.
Police said a woman and child in the house were physically unharmed, while a bullet that pierced an exterior wall came within "about a metre" of hitting a sleeping neighbour.
The offenders then fired shots at another house on the same street, but no one was injured.
Detective Superintendent Scott Moller said last week that people living at each of the targeted houses were known to police as a result of previous criminal gang-related incidents.
Police are urging anyone who may have any information, including the driver of the car, anyone who saw the car last Thursday night, or who has any dash-cam footage of the Calwell area, to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website.
Information can be provided anonymously, quoting reference number 6281610.
