Ernakulam District Tourism Promotion Council to launch spiritual tours 

KOCHI: The Ernakulam District Tourism Promotion Council (DTPC) will launch spiritual tours - Nalambala Thozhal (Visit to Four Temples) - to Thrissur and Kottayam districts during the holy Ramayana month. Nalambalam Thozal, a pilgrimage to the temples of Lord Shri Rama and three brothers, is considered to be a holy deed during the Ramayana month.

The tour packages are arranged by DTPC in association with a startup initiative, Kerala City Tour, which already conducts one-day trips to various destinations in Ernakulam and nearby districts. The Thrissur Nalabalam Thozhal package covers Moozhikulam Sree Lakshmana Perumal temple, Payammal Sree Shathruknha Swami temple, Koodalmaikyam temple and Thriprayar Sreerama temple.  The package has been priced at `799 per person.

The pilgrims can visit the holy sites in air-conditioned bus. The DTPC will also make arrangements for the pilgrims to visit these temples without getting stranded in long queues. Similarly, the DTPC will also provide ‘prasadam’ as part of the package. The bus will start from Kochi in the morning and return by night. The pickup points for the pilgrims will be Angamaly, Paravoor Kavala, Aluva, Muttom, Kalamassery, Edappally and Vytilla Hub.

Similar spiritual tour to four temples of Rama and three brothers located at Ramapuram panchayat in Kottayam district will also be launched during Ramayana month. The pilgrims who avail the package can visit Nedungad Shathrughna Swami temple, Mulakkulam Sree Lakshmana Swami temple, Memmury Bharatha Swamy temple and Mammalassery Sree Rama Swamy temple. The package is priced at `699 per head. The bus will start from Nedumbassery in the morning and return by night.
