Cuttack CESU ex-officer held in graft case

The Vigilance police have arrested CESU, Palamandap Cuttack, former Assistant Manager (Commerce) Akashaya Kumar Sutar for demanding and abetting acceptance of illegal gratification of Rs 50,000. Earlier, a case was registered on February 16 against Akshaya Kumar Sutar and Cuttack Dolamundai Electrical Section JE Bikash Kumar Senapati for demanding and abetting acceptance of illegal gratification from complainant Debasish Kumar Jena for supply of electric connection to his newly constructed building in Moonlight Lane, Pithapur. During investigation, Bikash Kumar Senapati was arrested and forwarded to court on February 17 while Sutar had absconded and manipulated documents of his Sub-Division in order to disappear evidence against him and his co-accused Senapati. Sutar was forwarded to the Special Judge Vigilance Court and remanded to jail custody.
