‘Both are on the same page when it comes to looting the poor’

Coming down on TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu and YSR Congress Party chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan, alleged that the leaders of both parties are hand in glove in looting the poor.

Addressing a public meeting at Pendurthi on Wednesday, Mr. Pawan said Mr. Jagan was trying to sidestep people’s issues by saying that he would address them in the event of coming to power. If the TDP was given one more chance, it would open the floodgates to polluting industries, he said.

The JSP chief questioned Mr. Naidu whether he was aware of the loot by party MLAs, MPs and their kin.

On the one hand, the TDP is organising the Dalit Tejam programme and on the other, its leaders are usurping the land of the Dalits, he said.

Mudapaka farmers’ issue

The JSP leader said that he supported the TDP in 2014 thinking that North Andhra would be developed.

Referring to the Mudapaka farmers’ issue, he pointed out that the government was indirectly encouraging land grabbers. About 953 farmers had lost their land, but the government had not done justice till date. Mr. Pawan said that the government acquired 300 acres for the Petroleum University but was yet to pay compensation to the oustees. Earlier, he held a ‘Rachabanda’ at Mudapaka and interacted with the farmers. He demanded that the SIT report on land grabbing be made public.

Responding to the criticism that he has only 10% vote share, he said, “Narendra Modi and Donald Trump began with 10%. I am confident of forming the government.”

Mr. Pawan termed the TDP Deeksha for separate railway zone ‘drama politics.’ “If they were really serious, why Yerran Naidu, who was then Chairman of the Railway Reorganisation Committee, did not accord the sanction?” he asked.
