Speaking at the valedictory function of the training programme organised by the Kerala Tourism Department in collaboration with Kerala Institute of Tourism and Travel Studies (KITTS) for the Tourism Police on tourist’s safety, he said that, with the basic amenities available in the tourism sector, the Tourism Police will also be provided with necessary facilities.
The Minister went on to say that the Tourism Police should cultivate a friendly atmosphere for the tourists. He added that the Tourism Police can contribute a lot to the developments which the government intends to bring in the tourism scenario in the state.
As part of the Tourism Policy, the government is bringing in huge reforms in the tourism sector. The government, along with the Tourism Department, is responsible to make it easy for a tourist to visit Kerala and return safe and happy.
Training for around 161 police personnel were imparted in six batches.
