Rajnath discusses various issues with J&K Governor

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh held discussions with Governor NN Vohra at Raj Bhavan in Srinagar last night. They discussed various issues relating to security management, implementation of development programmes and positive engagement of the youth in the state. Governor briefed Home Minister about the ongoing Shri Amarnath Yatra. National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Union Home Secretary Rajiv Gauba and top officials from Army, Police, armed forces and intelligence agencies were present at the meeting.

Home Minister along with National Security Advisor arrived in Srinagar Wednesday on a two-day visit to Jammu & Kashmir. Mr Singh is likely to pay obeisance at the Amarnath shrine today.

Official sources described the visit of Home Minister & NSA as a multi-purpose exercise. Rajnath Singh and Ajit Doval had meetings wherein they reviewed overall security situation in Kashmir.

They were briefed about the issues, challenges on militancy front, cross border and LoC infiltration and preparedness of the security agencies. They were also briefed about the conduct of ongoing Amarnath Yatra.

Home Minister is visiting the Amarnath Cave shrine. Home Minister will also take latest review of the security situation before returning to Delhi.
