The Revathy Kalamandir Film Academy has announced the fourth edition of its ‘24 Hours Film Rush’ contest. This year, the academy has partnered with The Hindu MetroPlus for the event.
It is a one-of-its-kind short film contest in which the teams will have to script, direct, shoot, edit, mix, and present the film within 24 hours from the time the concept is announced. The contest is on July 7 and 8.
The competition is for amateurs, students, or professionals in media and film, and is open to those between the ages of 15 and 40. The team should have at least five persons.
The running time of the short film should be between four and six minutes. The end credits should be only 30 seconds long.
No equipment will be provided for the shoot. The crew should have at least a DSLR camera. They can also use an iPhone. The teams should submit the file in 1,920 x 1,080 in .mov or .mp4 format regardless of equipment used. The best film wins ₹75,000 and the second prize is ₹50,000. There is an audience prize of ₹25,000 too. All teams selected for the contest will be given certificate of appreciation. Registration can be done online on www.rkfa.in Teams can also register at centres in Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi, and Kozhikode between 9.30 a.m. and 5 p.m. on July 5. Chennai, Coimbatore, and Bengaluru will have only online registrations.
