NOIDA: A three-year-old, fawn coloured, female
pug went missing on May 7, days after its owners left it with a neighbour as they were travelling for a few days. Despite police complaint and posters across the city, they have not yet found the dog.
“We had put up posters announcing a Rs 25,000 reward for Charli (the pug). But no one has come forward with any leads yet,” said Avnish Yadav, the owner of the pet, adding they suspect Charli may have been stolen for illegal breeding.
Yadav, who lives in Sector 27, had left Charli with a neighbour who had earlier watched the dog for him. On May 4, he had to visit Varanasi for a family engagement. A few days after he left, the neighbour informed him that the pug had gone missing. The family returned the next day to Noida and launched a search but could not trace the dog.
A complaint was filed in Sector 20 police station. “It’s almost two months since my pet went missing, but the police have refused to register an FIR,” Avnish added. The family, which has been circulating posters promising a reward of Rs 25,000, is hoping for some good news. “We just hope Charli is safe. We have been worried for her since she went missing,” said Yadav's father Ajay Kumar Yadav.
