Man charged with assaulting woman outside Brisbane army barracks

A woman in her 60s was allegedly dragged out of her car and assaulted by a man outside the Enoggera Barracks army base on Tuesday afternoon.

A 20-year-old man was arrested and charged by Queensland Police just after 3pm, reportedly with assistance from military police.

He was charged with a serious assault in relation to a person over 60, wilful damage to the alleged victim's car and assault police.

The man was due to face court on July 18.

The Australian Defence Force has been contacted for comment.
