Junior National Football Championship trials on Jul 9

PANAJI: Selection trials for girls representing the state at the Junior National Football Championship are scheduled to be held on July 9 from 3:30 pm at the Artificial Turf, Fatorda. The championship will be held from August 10 to 30. Those interested are requested to bring 2 passport sized photographs, birth certificate, aadhar card and a full playing kit. Players born between Jan 1, 2000 and Dec 31, 2004 will be eligible for the trials.

Saraswat Vidyalaya win Bardez chess tourney

MAPUSA: Saraswat Vidyalaya Khorlim Mapusa emerged champions at Bardez Taluka Mini secondary school Chess tournament organised by Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs at Multipurpose hall Peddem Mapusa. The U-14 boys tournament saw 33 schools participate. Saraswat vidyalaya finished on top with 10 points followed by St Britto’s High school Mapusa having 8 points and Chubby cheeks High school Calangute finishing with 7 points.
