Audi Shows 2020 E-Tron Crossover’s Cabin That Gets Door Screens

As the world premiere of the Audi E-Tron nears, the German manufacturer has released the first images and details of the electric crossover’s interior.

Unveiled at the Royal Danish Playhouse in Copenhagen, the interior of the Audi E-Tron prototype looks exceptionally futuristic and will pave the way for Audi interiors moving forward.

One area of the E-Tron’s cabin which immediately catches the eye is the angular dashboard which incorporates slim air vents, black trimming, and accent lighting.

What you may also notice are two small screens found in the corners of the doors. These screens display the images captured by the rear-facing cameras which sit in place of traditional wing mirrors. These “virtual exterior mirrors” will be optional on the production version of the E-Tron.

Elsewhere, the crossover features Audi’s industry-leading virtual cockpit in place of traditional gauges while the center console is made up of two large touchscreens that control all vehicle functions. The Audi E-Tron also makes use of an intriguing center console that gives off the impression that the gear lever is floating.

Customers will have a selection of interior options at their disposal depending on which equipment line they choose. Common among all trim levels will be stitching on the seats that create a motif resembling electric circuit boards. Options will include orange contrast stitching and piping, a contour/ambient lighting package and a selection of upholstery materials, colors, and inlays.

Despite the vehicle’s sleek shape and low roofline, Audi says it offers “top-class” headroom and knee room for the full-size SUV market.

Last but not least, the Audi E-Tron will be offered with a Bang & Olufsen Premium Sound System with 16 speakers and a 705-watt amplifier.
