ERA held its third board meeting of the year at the Flybe head office in Exeter, UK. Flybe, the largest independent regional airline in Europe, is one of the association’s 50 diverse European airline members. Pilot shortage, EU261 passenger rights regulation, Brexit, GDPR, safety and security developments are just some of the key issues for the association this year.
ERA’s Board is elected by ERA members and consists of representatives of the association’s airline, airport, manufacturer and aviation supplier members. ERA Board protects the interests of Europe’s aviation sector, ensuring that members’ concerns are understood by Europe’s senior regulators and policymakers and reflected in legislation that promotes a healthy, safe and prosperous airline market.
Flybe CEO Christine Ourmières-Widener says: “ERA plays a critical role in driving forward a range of key industry issues all of which are of relevance to Flybe. As Europe’s largest regional airline, it’s a pleasure for us to host this ERA Board meeting at our UK headquarters in Exeter and have the added opportunity to showcase our facilities to fellow regional airlines and suppliers.”
ERA’s Director General Montserrat Barriga commented after the meeting: “I’d like to thank Flybe for hosting our third board meeting of the year and welcoming us to Exeter. ERA Board Members generously dedicate their valuable time and resources to the association and the expert knowledge that our board members contribute is invaluable. The members of ERA make a huge contribution to our continent’s overall competitiveness and accessibility, and I look forward to continuing our work to ensure that Europe stays connected.”
