2019 BMW X5 Reaching US Showrooms From $60,700

Have you been scoping out the new 2019 BMW X5, and wondering how much it’d cost to put one in your driveway? Well wonder no more, because the Bavarian automaker has released pricing for the new model.

Launching in its fourth iteration, the new X5 carries a starting price of $60,700. Add in the $995 destination charge and you’re looking at $61,695 delivered, before delving into the long options list.

That’s for the xDrive40i model, and represents a $1,200 jump over the price of the 2018 X5 xDrive35i it replaces. (The existing model has also been offered in a base sDrive35i with rear-wheel drive, which has yet to launch for the new version.)

Graduate to the top X5 xDrive 50i and you’re looking at $75,750 (or $76,745 with delivered). That’s $1,700 more than the existing model. Customers will also be able to choose between various packages, including the standard xLine and optional M Sport trim packages, and a new off-road package with air suspension and mechanical locking rear differential.

But no matter which version or packages you select, the 2019 X5 comes with a long list of standard equipment – including launch control, dynamic dampers, LED headlamps, panoramic glass sunroof, and an array of safety and driver-assistance systems.

Crossovers remain BMW’s hottest sellers in the United States, where they accounted for 53 percent of its sales last month. Of the nearly 30,000 vehicles the automaker sold in America in June, 10302 of them were part of the X series – of which 4,355 were X5s – and that’s based on the outgoing model. The arrival of the new model ought to further expand BMW’s slice of the lucrative market for mid-size luxury SUVs.
