Mansarovar Yatra: 2 pilgrims die in Nepal

Two pilgrims while returning from Mansarovar Yatra died in Nepal. The pilgrims are from Andhra Pradesh and Kerala. India operated special helicopters were used to transport the bodies of the deceased. Indian embassy released a statement saying Leela Narayan Mandredath from Kerala died out of high altitude sickness, while Satya Lakshmi who hailed from Andhra Pradesh passed away after suffering a heart attack. Due to heavy rains and bad weather, over 1,500 Indian pilgrims who are undertaking the Kailash-Mansarovar yatra are stranded in Nepal. The Indian embassy in Kathmandu is closely monitoring the situation along the route in Simikot, 423 km from capital Kathmandu. At least 104 Indian pilgrims of Kailash Mansarovar Yatra on Tuesday were evacuated.
