Accuses the govt of wasting time on ‘political melodrama’

BJP state chief Manoj Tiwari on Tuesday blamed the AAP government for “wasting its time on political melodramas” while the people of Delhi faced “artificial” water and power crises. Mr. Tiwari also accused the AAP of being “visionless”.

He claimed that an RTI reply by the DJB stated that water supply to the city from Haryana and U.P. had been increasing constantly.

“Had the government ensured proper treatment of raw water received from Haryana, U.P. and Uttrakhand and got it distributed under a judicious summer action plan, people of Delhi would get regular and proper water supply,” Mr. Tiwari said.

‘Artificial water crisis’

“The Kejriwal government has, in connivance with ground water and tanker mafias, created an artificial water scarcity,” he alleged.

The MP claimed that there was no shortage of electricity in the power grid but the AAP government was taking no action against the private power supply companies who had created an “artificial electricity shortage” in Delhi.

“Private companies cut their power purchase from the grids during peak hours, when the rates go up a little, to maintain their profits. The Delhi government continuously says that its revenue as well as the pollution cess collection is going up but the it has failed the people of Delhi on health, education and public transport as well,” Mr. Tiwari alleged.
