ACT Policing investigates suspicious behaviour near Belconnen school

Police are investigating another reported incident of suspicious behaviour near a Canberra school, urging parents to report any unusual approaches immediately.

"We can confirm that about 4pm on Monday, July 2, ACT Policing attended a primary school in the Belconnen area in relation to the report of a suspicious vehicle and driver," a police spokesman said.

"ACT Policing are investigating the circumstances surrounding this incident and request anyone with information that may assist police contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000."

It is the latest in a string of similar reports across Canberra, where children have been approached by a man who attempted to lure them into his vehicle, both before and after school.

A student was approached by a man in Curtin before school on May 23, and there have been several reports on children being approached in the Woden area.

Last month ACT Policing said it was investigating an incident where a child was followed by a man in a vehicle in Yarralumla.

Police said a child was riding a bike along Bentham Street in Yarralumla around 1:30pm on Sunday, when a man followed him "to the drop off area of a nearby school and then watched the child for some time".
