Rajasthan DGP talks tough to check rapes of minors

Director General of Police O.P. Galhotra on Wednesday asked all district SPs to take stern actions against those found guilty in raping minors in the state.

"Such cases should be handled with utmost seriousness and all actions should be taken to ensure the accused gets punished at the earliest without any delay or callousness," he said in a press note.

Galhotra asked all police officers to remain extra alert and enhance vigil in their districts to ensure such heinous crimes are stopped.

He said that all cases registered under Act against rapists should be brought under Scheme to ensure the accused are dealt with iron hand at the earliest.

A three-year-old girl was raped on Monday night in Kanota area of when she was playing with her siblings outside her home. She was admitted to a hospital where her condition is said to be stable. The police teams are on a hunt to nab the accused.
