21mm rain enough to leave city waterlogged

Vadodara: Barodians woke up to a bout of heavy showers on Wednesday. Several areas witnessed heavy rains causing water-logging on the main roads. The old city too came to a standstill for a while as some of the roads were submerged in rain waters that receded later.
While Vadodara city received 21 mm of rains within few hours, Karjan saw 36 mm of rains, Dabhoi witnessed 38 mm rains, Waghodia and Desar received 32 mm of rains each. Roads near Nyay Mandir, Kirti Stambh, Mandvi and Gendigate witnessed water-logging. The western areas witnessed traffic jam for sometime but the traffic cops managed the vehicle flow smoothly. Fire brigade officials said that they didn’t receive any calls of trees getting uprooted or property damage.

Panchmahal district including Godhra also received good rains. Several areas in Halol and Godhra were waterlogged.
