BJP today said,  the apex court has unequivocally affirmed that Delhi is not a state. Speaking to the media in New Delhi after the verdict was announced, party spokesperson Nalin Kohli said, that the Aam Aadmi Party’s main plank that Delhi is a state has been rejected by the Supreme Court and he does not understand how AAP is claiming the verdict to be a victory. Mr Kohli said that Delhi is a Union Territory and that the Centre has an important role in it.

Earlier today, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had said the verdict is a big victory for the people of Delhi and democracy.
