Man gets life for killing wife

In a sensational judgement, Champua Additional District Judge in Keonjhar district Dr Pabitra Mohan Samal on Tuesday awarded life imprisonment to one Prasanta Kumar Dandia on the charge of killing his wife Smrutireakha Pradhan by setting her on fire. According to reports, Prasanta had forcefully married Smrutirekha, then a High School student of the Baria High School under the Baria police station against the wish of her parents.

After the marriage, the culprit started torturing the girl on the ground of dowry; and lastly on December 6, 2016, he killed her by setting fire to her after putting kerosene on her body.
