END THE TROLLING

Sir —  Does it take admonition from Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh to put an end to the trolling of his Ministerial colleague Sushma Swaraj? Union External Affairs Minister Swaraj has been the subject of offensive tweets for days ever since she ordered the transfer of a passport officer who allegedly humiliated an interfaith couple in Lucknow.

Finally, breaking the BJP’s silence on trolling of the External Aaffairs Minister, Rajnath Singh had to condemn the trolling. What do we do with social media which instead of being a force for good has very often tended to become a medium for evil, pure evil?

Unfortunately, there is no immediate remedy against the spreading of false rumours as long as the cell phone is handily available to all comers regardless of their mental state, education and sense of social and moral responsibility.
