Brahmaputra Board needs to be strengthened: Meghwal

The Board is an autonomous statutory body which is responsible for preparation and implementation of plans related to flood management, erosion control, drainage management and water resource development in the valley, officials said.

Meghwal, the of State for Water Resources reviewed the activities and works undertaken by the board and also discussed about various issues related to the organisation here.

He assured the officials about restructuring the board and also to fill up the vacant posts very soon.

Interacting with the officials of the board, he said, "the board should accept its weaknesses if there is any and try to minimise it. Any threat comes on its way needs to be converted into opportunities. This should be taken as an opportunity to work for development".
