New Delhi, Hailing the Supreme Court (SC) ruling on Lieutenant Governor (LG), Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday termed it as a victory for the people of Delhi and “democracy”.
“A big victory for the people of Delhi. A big victory for democracy,” Mr Kejriwal said in a tweet shortly after the Apex court’s decision.
The Chief Minister also said he has called a meeting of all his Cabinet Ministers at 1600 hrs at his residence to discuss critical projects of public importance which were blocked so far.
The SC on Wednesday ruled that the LG cannot act independently and obstruct policy decisions of the AAP Government in the national capital.
The Apex court also said the LG should “work harmoniously with the state”. It may be mentioned that the AAP Government and Delhi LG Anil Baijal had been at loggerheads on various issues.
