GURUGRAM: A 24-year-old man has been booked for stalking and blackmailing a woman for the past seven months after clicking her objectionable pictures.

According to the woman (30), who is married and a resident of Laxman Vihar, the accused — Pradeep Kumar Pandey (24), a resident of Kaushambi in Allahabad — had come to their home on December 1, 2017 and stayed there for 15 days.

“My husband did not object to him staying at our place as he was my brother’s friend. After returning to Kaushambi, Pradeep started calling me up at odd hours. I found his behaviour weird and started ignoring his calls. Then he sent me a few of my pictures and videos that he had clicked while I was bathing and changing clothes,” the woman said.

The woman alleged that she was being blackmailed for the past seven months. “He used to threaten me saying that he would make those videos and pictures public if I didn’t visit him in Allahabad.

On Monday, Pradeep forwarded the clippings and pictures to the woman’s husband. On being asked the woman told her husband that the accused was blackmailing her from the past several months. They then approached the cops and filed a complaint against the accused.

An FIR was registered under sections 354-D (stalking), 385 (putting person in fear in order to commit extortion) of the IPC and sections 67 and 67A of Information technology (IT) Act at Sector 9A police station.

“We have received the call records and copies of the video and pictures from the woman. We are conducting raids to nab Pradeep. He will soon be behind the bars,” said SHO Sudhir Kumar.
