There's less than a year to go before Marvel finally releases its first solo female superhero film, but with still no trailer to speak of and on-set photographs proving very few and far between, is a project with little to go off right now.
Which is why we get excited when the tiniest of details may have been revealed. Like, say, Captain Marvel star Samuel L Jackson inadvertently sharing what could be Captain Marvel's official helmet.
Marvel fans, prepare yourselves for a really cool sneak peak – and a potential spoilery image:
The actor shared a photo of himself in a Captain Marvel t-shirt — one that appears to be worn by the Visual Effects team — and captioned it: "Newest Latest from Viz Effects crew!#thanosazzizgrazz#shereddy."
On the t-shirt, we can see Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel (played in the film by Brie Larson) and she's sporting a helmet – which both marks a change from the previous pictures we've seen of Larson in costume and also fits in with concept art for the film that Marvel released last year, according to .
In the comics, Carol Danvers was given a retractable helmet in her 2012 relaunch as Captain Marvel that was designed to be reminiscent of Kree helmets in a nod to the original Captain Marvel (Mar-Vell) introduced in 1967, but the image on Jackson's t-shirt hasn't been lifted directly from any comic book design.
Which means we may have just got our first official look at what Captain Marvel's helmet looks like in the MCU.
Thanks, Jackson.
As for what else we know we'll see in the Marvel movie, you can bet on a serious gun show put on by Larson. As the actress previously shared, she's got her superhero workout on lock and is getting ridiculously buff in the process. Her movie-ready circuit, according to her Instagram account, includes pull-ups, pushups with weighted chains, rock climbing and lunges with overhead weights.
And really, her hard work is paying off. As Larson shared in one Instagram video, "nine months of training really does some stuff to your body."
