As commuters heading to Andheri stayed put at the station, the Central Railway has extended three trains terminating at Kurla to Ghatkopar to clear the crowd. Commuters with harbour line passes between Goregaon and Bandra have been allowed to use the central line.

Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) will be running extra buses to help stranded passengers at the affected railway stations.

The bridge on the Churchgate-end of Andheri station is a vital east-west connector in the city and is used by lakhs of commuters daily.
