Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal,Boxing athlete Florence Okelo, who visited from Kenya on a visa, received training from Mr. Roshanlal, the Chief Coach of Madhya Pradesh State Boxing Academy, for one month.
Mr. Roshan Lal taught her the technicalities of boxing, After her training period, Dr. S.L. Thaosen, the Director of Sports and Youth Welfare Department, honoured Ms. Florence with memento and certificate of training. Encouraging her, the Sports Director gave her good wishes for the future endeavours.
While discussing with the Sports Director, Florence told that her aim is to promote the women boxing in Kenya and help other boxers to participate in professional tournaments. She will train the women athletes in Kenya, her home country. Chief Coach Mr. Roshanlal was also present on this occasion.
It is noteworthy that Florence, who came to Bhopal on a two-month visa with her husband, Economics Engineer Clemens Mawell, had gathered information about Sports and Youth Welfare Department, Madhya Pradesh from the department’s official website and contacted Mr. Roshanlal for training here.
