New Delhi, NITI Aayog Vice Chairman Rajiv Kumar on Tuesday said the NITI Aayog was not a successor of Planning Commission or a think tank; rather it was an action tank.
“I would say that NITI Aayog is not a Think Tank but an Action Tank,” Mr Kumar said while interacting with media persons here on Tuesday.
Sharing the achievements of the NITI Aayog during past four years, Mr Kumar said Indian economy was on the right track and expressed the hope that a growth rate of 8-9 per cent will be achieved by 2019.
Chief Executive Officer Amitabh Kant reiterated that NITI Aayog was working towards doubling farmers’income by 2022. Mr Kant said the NITI Ayog has set up Technical Support Unit for Poshan Abhiyan and recently released Water Management Index.
He said NITI Ayog is targeting 30,000 Atal Labs by 2022 as innovation has got a major boost through these labs.
