Kashyap felicitates 633 School National medals' winners

Chhattisgarh School Education Minister Kedar Kashyap felicitated 633 sportspersons who have won medals in the 62nd National School Sports Competition in the year 2016-2017 on Monday.

Kashyap congratulated the students, coaches and parents for the achievement. He said that as per the NGFI.

Gradation policy Chhattisgarh stood 11th at the National Level and is now at the Fifth spot in the year 2017-2018 which is a proud moment for the State of Chhattisgarh. Kashyap said there is no dearth of talent in the State.

The authorities are striving hard to improve the facilities in the education and sports fields. Earlier there were only 7 sports zones which have risen to 12 sports zones in 27 districts. Around 40 thousand sportspersons get an opportunity to participate in sports and games across the State.  The sportspersons who win Gold, silver and bronze medals are allotted Rs 21,000, Rs 15, 000 and Rs 10, 000 respectively and also a blazer. The Minister also raised the Travelling Allowance to Rs 180 from Rs 150. Around 633 sportspersons were felicitated. 303 girls and 330 boys were honoured for winning medals at the National School Sports Meet.

Parliamentary Secretary Ambesh Jaangde, District Education Officer NN Banjara, sportspersons from various parts of the State, parents and large number of students participated.
