AGARTALA: Three Indigenous People’s Front of
Tripura (
IPFT) leaders, including Mandai
MLA Dhirendra Debbarma and the party’s executives Amit Debbarma and Balaram Debbarma, have been booked by the CBI, along with 300 party workers, in connection with the murders of two journalists last year.
IPFT denied the report on Monday. “The CBI has not booked or interrogated anyone from our party. It has only sought permission from the chief judicial magistrate to undertake probe into the murders,” said IPFT
general secretary and tribal welfare minister Mevar Kumar Jamatia. “A section with vested interests is propagating lies against IPFT. This is an attempt to tarnish the image of the party,” he added.
