AHMEDABAD: Kunvarji Bavaliya, who left Congress and joined Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday morning, is likely to be inducted into the state cabinet scheduled to take place later in the day.
Senior Congress leader and five-time MLA from Gujarat's Jasdan constituency, Bavaliya resigned on Tuesday morning and joined BJP. He emailed his resignation to the All India Congress President Rahul Gandhi and submitted a copy of it to the Assmebly Speaker Rajendra Trivedi.

Bavaliya had earlier served as the Member of Parliament from 2009 to 2014.

Bavaliya told that,"under Rahul Gandhi's leadership caste and community division politics is increasing while under PM Narendraibhai Modi and Amitbhai Shah BJP is doing development of all without any such division. State Congress is having a lot of divisions and development of people is not in focus so I have decided to leave the party after 30 years. The PM, while serving as CM of the state, treated us very respectfully and worked without bias."

"I consulted my supporters also and they also agreed upon my decision," added Bavaliya.

Jitu Vaghani, state BJP president said, "Kuvanrjibhai has long career in public life and worked as MLA, MP, Congress working president also. His decision to join BJP will enhance party's strength in 2019 elections and we will win all 26 seats. He will be included in the state cabinet today."
