Major Improvements At Hebden Bridge Station Begin This Week

The first stage of the project begins on Friday, 6 July as Network Rail begin work to extend platform one by 56 metres to accommodate newer and longer trains which will call at the station. Similar work to extend platform two by 15 metres will follow later in the year. In addition to the platform extensions, there will also be upgrades to track and signalling, which will create a more modern and reliable railway.

The work is part of a wider improvement scheme which will improve passenger experience at the station. The project will see the installation of lifts which will offer improved access for passengers with limited mobility, heavy luggage or pushchairs. The scheme will also see the creation of a further 46 car parking spaces.
