Odisha people don’t believe in Modi gimmicks: Niranjan

The Narendra Modi Government has completed four years in office but failed in all aspects, alleged OPCC president Niranjan Patnaik on Monday.

He said the Modi Government had promised power supply to every household. But a week before, a Joint Secretary in the Union Power Ministry has made it clear that the Government is only responsible for infrastructure and it cannot guarantee uninterrupted power supply. The distributing companies and the State Governments are responsible for this, the official said.

By this, the Central Government is trying to shift the responsibilities and betraying the general public. Patnaik said, adding that BJP leaders are good speakers, but it would not solve the problems.

On water supply, Patnaik said the Chhattisgarh BJP Government constructed unauthorised barrages over river Mahanadi and Odisha remained dry in summer. Now, they are constructing barrages over river Tel, a major tributary of Mahanadi.

The Modi Government is helping Raman Singh do so. Now July has begun, but the Central Government hasn’t announced the MSP for fanners.

Patnaik said that in a dictatorial move Modi announced demonetisation claiming it would finish black money. Modi has time and again promised that all the black money stacked abroad would be brought back.

Public suffered a lot to withdraw the money deposited in banks. But after the demonetisation, a whopping Rs 7,000 crore has been deposited in Swiss Bank as black money. This is a strong blow to the innocent public.

Odisha as well as the entire country is reeling with acute unemployment problem. The BJP grabbed power in many States with money power though it has no majority there. Now, resentment has started among NDA partners. The BJP is now eyeing Odisha to rule, but it is a daydream, added Patnaik.
