An official spokesperson said that the camps were held to provide health services to the poor and needy strata of the society under Tandrust Punjab mission, a brainchild of chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh.
He said that these camps were organised in all Community Health Centres (CHC) and Primary Health Centre (PHCs) where a team of doctors and additional nursing staff were specially deputed and examined the patients.
He also stated that hemoglobin and blood sugar tests were also conducted in the camps. The medicines were also given to them there at free of cost and were made aware about the importance of nutritious diet, he added.
He disclosed the before the camps, the announcement was done in the particular areas so that maximum people can take benefit of these camps.
He claimed that the department would continue to take a slew of initiatives to apprise the people about good health and hygiene under the campaign.
