Nifty missed the 10,700-mark by as small a margin as 0.1 points, despite gaining 0.40 per cent

Sensex on the other hand gained 114.19 points to close at 35,378.60.
In morning session, the bourses were under pressure on back of weak Asian stock market cues. However, by mid-day trade investor sentiments were settled and the benchmark indices traded range bound.
Among sectoral sub-indices, Nifty Pharma gained more than 2 per cent while auto and IT baskets went up by more than a per cent each. PSU Bank stocks had a disappointing day.
Maruti,
Infosys, Sun Pharma and ONGC stocks were the top performers.
