MADURAI
A 70-year-old farmer, M. Mokkusu, his cow and dog were electrocuted to death, when they came in contact with a live power line that was lying on the ground in his farm in Kalkondanpatti near Usilampatti on Tuesday.
The police said Mokkusu had taken his cow to the farm for grazing when he walked on the electric cable that had got snapped and lain on the ground. The cow also stamped on it, and they were killed on the spot. Mokkusu’s pet dog, which was following them, was seen lying dead close by, biting the wire.
Uthappanaickanur police are investigating.
