Kailash Mansarovar Yatra: 1575 pilgrims stuck in Nepal, Embassy issues helpline numbers

Pilgrims undertaking the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra in Nepal were stranded in large numbers after heavy rains caused landslides at various locations. Indian Embassy in Kathmandu is monitoring the situation along Nepalgunj-Simikot-Hilsa route of Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, through Nepal. Due to bad weather conditions there is very little chance of operating evacuation flights. 1575 pilgrims are said to be stranded, 525 pilgrims in Simikot, 550 in Hilsa and another 500 more in Tibet side, who are safe as of Tuesday.
