Lewandowski could stay at Bayern
Premier League clubs Chelsea and Manchester United could miss out on signing Robert Lewandowski because the striker may stay with Bayern Munich.
The Poland skipper, who played at the World Cup in Russia, had reportedly told the German champions that he wanted to leave. But according to the Daily Star Bayern’s new boss Niko Kovac expects the 29-year-old to remain at the club.
Kovac said: “Nothing new about Robert Lewandowski. I called him and gave him my point of view. I look forward to having him in the team. He is a great player, a world-class striker who has done a lot for the club and will do a lot in the future.”
Morata and Higuain to swap?
Chelsea are keen to thrash out a deal with Juventus for a swap involving Alvaro Morata and Gonzalo Higuain. It’s reported that the Blues are “ready to negotiate” a deal that will see Spanish striker Morata, 25, return to the Italian club and Argentina forward Higuain, 30, move to Stamford Bridge. Kasper Schmeichel: Leicester City to Chelsea/Roma
Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel is a target for Chelsea and Roma. Aleksandr Golovin’s mother has confirmed that her son is in talks with Chelsea. The 22-year-old has starred for Russia at the World Cup and has been linked with a number of Europe’s biggest clubs. When asked about Chelsea, Golovin’s mother Svetlana said: “Yes, now there are talks between the clubs, but we still do not know the details. Sacha right now stands only for the Russian team, fully focused on the World Cup. The transition from one club to another will only be discussed after it is completed here.” (The Sun)

Bayern Munich have refused to respond to speculation about a move for Manchester United’s Anthony Martial.
