Bengaluru gets Rs 667 crore to ensure women’s safety

Just days afterIndia was ranked the most dangerous country for women in a survey conducted by an organisation, Bengaluru is ge aring up to ensure the city is safe for all.
The Centre has given its approval to a proposal that theBruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) had sent to it. Under the ‘Safe City’ project, the Centre will provide Rs 667 crore for the city (this is the highest amount sanctioned among 8 Indian cities that are implementing the project). The BBMP in association with the Bangalore City Police had sent the proposal seeking funds from the government in December 2017. The project will be implemented for three years.
