Not long after creating its Jaguar F-Type-based Thunder, Lister Motor Company has turned its attention to a new model, this time based on the F-Pace. Dubbed the Lightning, the company says it will be the world’s fastest SUV.
In a bid to promote the vehicle, the company has dropped a teaser image showing the Lightning’s massive wheels and brakes. While we don’t have measurements for the brakes, we can see that they appear to be quite large, are carbon ceramic and feature six-piston calipers.
The Facebook caption reads: “When you are creating the world’s #fastest #SUV, it needs to stop as fast as it accelerates. Coming soon, the F-Pace, redefined by Lister.”
Reports claim that the Lister Lightning will utilize a 5.0-liter supercharged V8 delivering approximately 670 hp, a significant increase over the 550 hp of the range-topping F-Pace SVR. This power will enable the Lightning to exceed 190 mph (306 km/h), meaning it’ll continue to accelerate beyond the Lamborghini Urus’s top speed which sits at exactly 190 mph.
Differentiating the Lightning from a standard F-Pace will be a selection of custom components, including revised front and rear fascias. A previous teaser showed the SUV with a green paint scheme complemented by bright yellow accents.
Lister intends on producing just 250 examples of the Lightning, but pricing details have yet to be made public. However, a significant premium over the F-Pace SVR’s $79,990 starting price is to be expected.
