Under a black parasol attached to a rugged Royal Enfield Bullet, S. Shiva is relishing grilled dishes from its modified sidecar, with plumes of smoke billowing from its barbecue box.

“I came to know about bullet barbecue on the Internet and was surprised to find one here. I made it a point to visit it in my free time, wherever it is stationed in the city, after our college hours,” says the post graduation student, pointing at the American army-styled Bullet.

Bengaluru-based BBQ Ride India has forayed into the city, with its Bullet stationed on the Sri Padmavati Mahila University (SPMVV) road, serving both vegetarian and non vegetarian dishes.

Introduced in the city by Neelendranath Chowdary, a food connoisseur who works at a private firm, the Bullet offers dishes ranging from grilled chicken to paneer from 5.30 p.m. to 10 p.m. every day, and is attracting customers from different walks of life, owing to low prices.

“Earlier, we had set up the facility near Anna Rao circle for a month and later moved it to the beginning the road. It takes nearly two hours to prepare for the dishes in the morning, ” says M. Ravi Kumar, a graduation student, who manages the Bullet part-time.

Speaking to The Hindu, Mr. Kumar says he underwent cooking training in Bengaluru, where the motorcycle was fitted with the sidecar. He further said that they would soon be using the barbecue to its full potential to prepare burgers and rolls to cater to the local demand.

BBQ Ride India has operations in Visakhapatnam, Bengaluru, Chennai and Mumbai .
