VIJAYAWADA: A man ended his life by jumping in front of a train near
Vijayawada railway station on Monday. The incident came to light after cops found his body late in the night. The deceased was identified as Mora Guruva Reddy (27), a resident of Krishna Lanka.
According to Government Railway Police, they recovered his cellphone and found a selfie video explaining his reason for suicide. In the video, Reddy was addressing his wife Gayathri (25) and his father Venkat Ramana. He apologized to his father for taking the extreme step and also blamed his wife for breaking his heart and for meting out humiliation towards him by getting him arrested.
Speaking to TOI, Krishna Lanka police explained that Guruva Reddy and Gayathri were in a relationship since Class X and got married five years ago. While Guruva Reddy studied till 10th, he helped in educating his wife to complete her degree course and eventually, she even got a job at a private firm in Hyderabad as a software professional.
Over the past few months, Guruva Reddy was suspicious of Gayathri’s fidelity and he went to the extent of installing ‘Spyhuman’, a paid application to keep an eye on her messages and calls. He later confronted her claiming that he has all the evidence of her affair with another man identified as Karthik. Later, he again installed another variation of the application in her phone which enables him to record live conversations and transfers the feed to his phone.
Once again, he confronted her and later dropped her off at her parents’ place. She then attempted suicide by consuming sleeping pills and was admitted at Andhra Hospital on June 27.
Later, an harassment complaint was registered against Guruva Reddy at Krishna Lanka police station. Cops summoned him for inquiry and later let him off with a warning, after which he took the extreme measure. Now, GRP police took cognizance of the selfie video and registered an abetment to suicide case against Gayathri and her family members. The investigation is still on.
