Leader of Opposition in the State Assembly Narasingha Mishra on Monday slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi alleging that he failed to keep his promise to upgrade the Ispat General Hospital, Rourkela to a super speciality hospital-cum-medical college.

“The Prime Minister had promised to upgrade the IGH to a multi-speciality hospital three years ago. While he is yet to keep his promise, a 30-year-old of Rourkela, Muktikanta Biswal, walked 1,350 km to Delhi to meet him and urge him to fulfil his promise, but the latter didn’t give time to him. Finally, the Delhi police arrested him as he was fighting to protect his democratic rights,” lamented Mishra.

Addressing a Press meet, the Congress leader alleged that the Prime Minister, who ought to devote all his time for interest of the nation, is spending most of his time for his party work.

Mishra stated that he has sent a letter to the Prime Minister requesting him to give an appointment to the Odisha Congress Legislature Party so that MLAs can remind him about the promises he had made on April 1, 2015 at Rourkela.

Besides, Mishra also alleged that the Prime Minister has failed to check skyrocketing of prices of essential commodities and give employments to youths.

Stating that Odisha desperately needs attention to quality education and healthcare facilities, Mishra informed that the Pradesh Congress has raised  a fund of more than Rs 20 lakh  and would hand over the same to the PM so that he can utilise the same as a token money to keep his promises.
