Priestess of Mannarasala Sree Nagaraja Temple Umadevi Antharjanam offered ‘bhiksha’ (alms) to the Oushadha Bhiksha Yatra, a vehicular campaign of Sreedhareeyam Oushadheswari Temple, Koothattukulam, on Monday.
A priest accompanying the Yatra in the vehicle received alms from the priestess when it reached the Mannarasala temple.
The campaign is being held to collect medicines and herbs from 114 temples to prepare the special monsoon season Ayurvedic preparation consumed by Keralites during the month of Karkkidakam.
The Yatra will conclude on July 15. Devotees will be served the medicine after pujas and rituals at the Oushadheswari temple from the first day of the Malayalam month of month of Karkkidakam.
The Yatra also visited Puthiyidam Sree Krishna Swamy Temple, Chettikulangara Sree Bhagavathi Temple, Mattam Mahadeva Temple, Sree Subrahmanya Swamy Temple, Haripad, Ambalappuzha Sree Krishna Temple, Erattakkulangara Sri Mahadeva Temple, Sri Dharma Sastha Temple, Vandanam, and Kidangamparambu Sree Bhuvaneswari Temple in the district.
