Lead futures slide 0.09% on weak spot cues

Lead prices eased by 0.09 per cent to Rs 165.40 per kg in futures trade today as speculators cut down their positions, taking negative cues from spot market on subdued demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in 15 paise or 0.09 per cent to Rs 165.40 per kg in business turnover of 499 lots.

Similarly, the for delivery in August contracts was trading lower by 5 paise or 0.03 per cent to Rs 165.85 per kg in 4 lots.

Analysts said offloading of positions by traders owing to slackened demand from battery makers in the physical market, mainly weighed on lead prices at futures trade.
